In Pushkino, culture enthusiasts will find two churches with clearly defined historical contexts, the Mayakovsky Memorial Museum with objects and documents from the poet’s life, and public parks with different features. This makes it easy to plan a stay around your interests: architectural and memorial history on one hand, and walks, play and physical activities on the other. For planning purposes, it is especially helpful to understand how the individual places differ.

Churches with different historical connections

The Bogolyubskaya Church was built in 1906 with funds provided by the forestry industrialist Sharikov. The Church of the Savior Not Made by Human Hands was built in 1912 to mark the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. The construction dates are only six years apart, but the historical contexts differ: Sharikov’s funding is part of the first church’s history, while the second was built to mark the dynastic anniversary. Together, these provide two specific points of reference in the town’s history, without reducing either church to its construction date. For those interested in cultural history, the years provide a clear framework, while the funding and commemorative occasion offer different perspectives.

Mayakovsky: collection and house history

The Mayakovsky Memorial Museum displays collected objects and documents about the poet’s life. The focus is therefore on the poet himself and the materials brought together in the museum. The history of the house is also part of this cultural focus: the museum in this house was established in 1969 and destroyed by a fire in the 1990s. The Mayakovsky dacha building was completely destroyed by fire in 1997 and subsequently rebuilt. These two accounts mark different stages: the establishment and destruction of the former museum, and the destruction and reconstruction of the dacha building.

Two parks, different features

The Central Park of Culture and Recreation is Pushkino’s main park. Wide paths run among tall trees; there are also recreational areas with swings and pavilions, children’s playgrounds, a skate park and an event stage. The park also has a café and a rental service for scooters, bicycles and children’s vehicles. Depending on what you want from your visit, you can focus on walking paths, play and physical activity, or an event. As park facilities can change, it is best to check before visiting whether the café and rental service are currently available.

Serebryanka Park in the Dzerzhinets microdistrict has a different focus. Its landscaped waterfront promenade is designed for walking; there are also children’s play areas, workout stations and table tennis tables. When choosing a park, the comparison offers different points of reference: wide paths among tall trees and an event stage at the Central Park, and a waterfront promenade, workout stations and table tennis at Serebryanka.
