Khimki offers a range of things to explore during your stay, from park history and memorial sites to exhibitions and landscaped green spaces. Each place has its own focus: at L. N. Tolstoy Park, historical development, an exhibition complex and views of the Moscow Canal come together. Dubki represents military history and remembrance through its memorials; Dva Berega and Ekobereg draw more attention to paths and landscapes. This lets you tailor your choice to the subjects that interest you most.

Exhibitions and Park History

The Artishok Exhibition Complex is located in Tolstoy Park, to the right of the Ferris wheel. It hosts artists’ opening receptions and historical exhibitions. Each year, the complex also hosts several touring exhibitions from leading museums in Moscow and the Moscow Region. The exhibitions change, so check in advance what will be on display during your stay. Artishok is a seven-minute walk from Khimki MCD station. Actual walking time may vary.

The park itself also has a history spanning several decades: its development began in the 1920s. It was named after the Russian writer L. N. Tolstoy in 1926 and officially designated a park in 1947. Today, its features include shaded avenues, playgrounds, recreation areas and bookcrossing. The park also offers views of the Moscow Canal. If you plan to visit specific facilities, check their current condition before your visit.

Memorial Sites in Dubki

Dubki Park is home to two monuments with different historical associations. At the park entrance, a monument commemorates the La-7 aircraft, one of the most significant aircraft of the Great Patriotic War. An obelisk was also unveiled in the park to mark the 200th anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812. It commemorates the bravery and glory of the Russian army. Visitors interested in history will find references here both to the War of 1812 and to the aviation history of the Great Patriotic War.

Paths and Green Spaces

Dva Berega Park has a network of trails and paths. Its amenities include a children’s play area, benches and waste bins. Information boards also provide details about the urban district. An avenue of young trees adds to the landscape. If you plan to use specific paths or facilities, you can check their current condition on site.

At Ekobereg Park, other landscape features take centre stage: there is a fountain and an observation platform overlooking the Moscow Canal. The pedestrian area includes wooden stairs and ramps connecting different levels of the park. Fruit and berry trees, shrubs and perennial flowers have been planted there; the planting may change over time. The two parks therefore offer different highlights: Dva Berega features paths, a play area and information boards, while Ekobereg is shaped by features including views, changes in elevation and planting.

A Special Museum in Novogorsk

The Central Museum of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is located in Novogorsk, within the municipal area of Khimki. Its collections explore the history of civil defence against natural and technological hazards in wartime and peacetime. The museum offers exhibitions as well as cultural and educational programmes; individual exhibitions and programmes may vary.

Specific conditions apply to visiting the exhibitions: admission is for Russian citizens in organised groups of seven to 15 people, with prior registration. Registration is also used to apply for a one-time entry pass to the Ministry of Emergency Situations grounds. As conditions may change, confirm them directly with the museum before visiting.

Find the Right Hotel in Khimki

If exhibitions and park history are your main interests, Tolstoy Park and Artishok are notable places to visit. For military history and memorial sites, consider Dubki; if you are more interested in park paths and landscapes, you can compare Dva Berega and Ekobereg. The museum in Novogorsk offers a distinct focus on the history of civil defence and educational programmes.

Before booking, consider which of these interests matter most to your stay. Then compare the specific hotel address with the places you plan to visit. This lets you choose accommodation in Khimki based on your own priorities, rather than assuming a particular location or set of amenities.
