Ivanteyevka offers several distinct points of interest for a trip: the city’s history at the museum, churches with their own historical associations, and parks with very individual character. The exhibition spans the earliest times to the present day. At the Dendrological Park, the layout, avenue and trees take centre stage; the city park on the Ucha brings together walking, play and sports facilities. This mix can help you choose cultural and green highlights for your stay.

Museum: City History and Guided Tours

The modern exhibition at the Ivanteyevka Museum of History and Local Lore comprises three rooms. Its subject is the city’s history from the earliest times to the present day. The museum therefore provides an overview across time that does not stop at a single historical date. Exhibition details may change.

The museum offers individual and group tours; advance booking by telephone is required for both. You can call +7 (496) 536-13-90 to confirm current details. The museum regularly organises exhibitions and other cultural events. Individual dates may vary; if a particular event is important to your trip, it is advisable to confirm its date in advance.

Churches with Their Own Historical Associations

The Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God in Ivanteyevka was built on the site of an older wooden church dedicated to the Icon of the Kazan Mother of God. Its history can therefore also be viewed through the earlier building and the site. The Church of St George the Victorious is first mentioned in 1574. This date marks its first mention, not necessarily the year it was built. The two churches thus offer different historical perspectives: for one, the earlier wooden church on the same site is the point of reference; for the other, it is the early written mention.

Dendrological Park: Layout and Trees

The Dendrological Park named after Academician A. S. Yablokov covers four hectares and has a formal layout. A main larch avenue runs from north to south, dividing the park into two sections. These details combine a structured layout with botanical diversity: more than 100 species of trees and shrubs grow in the park, belonging to 24 families and 55 genera of woody plants. The number of species may change over time.

City Park on the Ucha

The Ucha runs through Ivanteyevka’s city park, flowing from north to south. Walking paths and fountains along the Ucha are among the park’s features. It officially opened to visitors in 1964.

Facilities include rides, children’s playgrounds, a Panda Park and a play area. For sports and exercise, there are cycling paths, volleyball and basketball courts, a football field, a workout area and a skate park. While the Dendrological Park is defined by its layout and tree collection, the city park focuses on a combination of places to walk, play and take part in sports.
