There are several ways to shape a stay in Elektrostal: explore the city’s history and remembrance, visit its museums, or enjoy leisure time in the parks.

Monuments and City History

The «Vechnyy ogon» memorial complex, which opened in 1968, commemorates Elektrostal residents who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By contrast, a monument to the «Katyusha» rocket launcher, unveiled in 2015, symbolizes the residents’ selfless work during the war. The two memorial sites emphasize different aspects: one commemorates the fallen, while the other honors the work of the city’s population.

A monument in the form of an antiaircraft gun, erected at Avangard Stadium in 1981, commemorates members of the 347th Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment, which protected the airspace over the city during the war. A monument to the city’s founder, N. A. Vtorov, was also erected near the M. Gorky Club in 2002. Together, these sites lead from remembrance of the war dead and the city’s wartime efforts to the history of Elektrostal’s founding. Vostochnyy Park also commemorates Hero of the Soviet Union Yekaterina Demina; her memorial adds another historical figure to the tributes to the war and the city’s founding.

Museum and Cultural Program

Semyon Ryshov is featured permanently in the permanent exhibition at the Historical and Art Museum in Elektrostal. A 2024 report describes Elektrostal’s Museum and Exhibition Center as hosting regular exhibitions, lectures, educational programs and music evenings for audiences of all ages. If you have a particular event in mind, check the dates before your trip.

The exhibition «Russkiy zamok. Kuznechnaya letopis», about a collection of old Russian locks, was scheduled to run at the I. I. Alekseyev Historical and Art Museum from September 15, 2026, to January 9, 2027. If this exhibition is important to your visit, check current access arrangements in advance.

Leisure at Avangard Park

Avangard Park has walking and cycling paths, as well as a designated dog exercise area; these facilities were described following improvement work in 2023. There is also a volleyball court, areas for roller skating and children’s playgrounds. The park brings a variety of activities together, from outdoor paths to play and sports facilities.

At the beach on the West Pond in the park, visitors can rent SUP boards, boats or catamarans. The beach is designated for swimming and sunbathing. Since rentals are seasonal, check whether the service you want is available before your visit.

More Leisure Ideas

The central amusement park «ElPark» offers more than 20 rides for different age groups. This adds a dedicated area of rides to the park paths and water activities. Check the operating conditions before your visit.
